The Piano Guys Concert!!

We just recently went on a weekend getaway, and say The Piano Guys concert, and it was the best weekend ever!!!
(WARNING! Long post.)

I had been looking forward to this concert ever since I heard they were going on tour, which was in January, so we bought them as soon as they went on sale! I would realize off and on the fact that we were going to see them LIVE! But I really started getting excited on the car ride over there! We checked into our hotel, then we officially started heading towards the venue!

We showed up, and we're freaking out like fangirls, and most of the people we're seeing are full grown adults, not freaking out. I just accepted at the beginning of the night I was going to freak out, and the people there can judge me if they want, but I really love their music, and was excited to get to see them live. I wasn't going to hide it at all! And it turns out I physically can not keep myself from freaking out!

We find our seats, and we start talking about how excited we were. Then we decided we were going to take pictures in front of the stage with the instruments! Excited that we were seeing the instruments up close, we started freaking out. Then, backstage behind a curtain, we SAW them walking around! From that second on, we decided we were NOT going to sit back down until we had to!

It was really funny thinking back about it, because every single time I saw them, I went into a giggle/excitement/fangirl attack! I couldn't stop! The best part, is when they started noticing us! They would just be talking to each other, and they would look over and point at us! It was so funny when Steven Sharp Nelson was at the back curtain, then he ran to the closer curtain, and peeked out REALLY fast, then he ran back to the other curtain!

Then, we saw a doorway that lead to the stage. My friend Amber convinced us we were going to try to sneak up there. Only to quickly be shooed away, so we just pretended that we were looking for the bathrooms. Then, of course, we took our places back in front of the stage until a lady told us we needed to sit down.

The concert itself was amazing! They did so many of my favorite songs, and even some improvised ones! They were so funny jokingly picking on each other. Jon convinced Steven that they were going to to Pachalbel's Cannon in D, but if you've never known a cellist, than you wouldn't know that it is apparently the most boring song for the cello. "When Pachalbel was writing Cannon in D, He wrote the piano part, the Violin part, the Viola part, but when he got to the Cellos, He wrote the first eight notes and DIED." So, he proceeded to make it not boring, by kicking up his feet and sitting back, eating a banana, then he "Fell asleep"! I can't judge, though, because I've never played it(or any other song for that matter) on Cello.

They were cracking us up, then they played some more songs. At one point, one of the hairs from Steven's bow broke, so he plucked it off and threw it down.

During the intermission, we asked someone if we could just hop up there and grab it, and we got an immediate NO. So, we saw a security guy, and asked him.
Amber: One of the hairs from Steven's bow fell off, and we were wondering if we could just hop up there and grab it really quickly?
Security guard: Sure, yeah. You can do anything you want!
Amber: Will we get kicked out for it?
Security guard: Of course. But, I can mention it to Steven, and if he says it's cool, then I'll bring it to you.

So, after about 10 - 15 minutes, someone came out on stage looking for it. So Amber went up there and pointed it out, and got it! It was awesome!

After the intermission, Jon was playing upside down,
With his toe,
etc. He even got up and danced! And sang The Sun Will Come Out! It was amazing, and hilarious! They also had a paper bag full of t-shirts they were throwing out to the audience. When they threw out all of the shirts, they just tossed the bag down and went on. They finished their show, and everyone started to leave. So, of course, we grabbed the paper bag too!

After the concert, we heard them talking up the stairs! And, again, started freaking out! We figured it's too late to get kicked out, so we started sneaking up the stairs to try and say hi! There was a small group of people, and then the Piano Guys! We started FREAKING OUT trying not to fall down the stairs, pass out, pee ourselves, etc. Then they said they were going to have a signing/meet-and-greet at the front of the building, so the people started heading that way. We asked where they were doing the signing, so we could try to start heading up that way, and they invited us to walk over there with them! I was really trying not to lose it right in front of them, and was silently starting to have some kind of anxiety attack or something. Amber was saying something to us, and when I turned around to reply, I saw I was walking within a foot of Steven Sharp Nelson!!
I think I nearly went into a fangirl coma or something, I was just a little bit behind him, but started freaking out, pointing and whispering: "IT'S STEVEN!! RIGHT THERE!! STEVEN IS RIGHT THERE!! OH MY GOSH WE'RE WALKING NEXT TO STEVEN SHARP NELSON!!!"

I somehow made it to the lines without passing out or getting security called on me, so we waited in line, and I started thinking of what I was going to say to them. I started preparing this speech in my head, about how they've inspired me to start playing again, how their music can totally make my day, cheer me up, but as soon as we got up there, my mind blanked out, and I could just say HI and answer their questions. We made shirts for the concert, that said: "If lost, please return to The Piano Guys" Steve read it and laughed! He love them. Steve talked with us for a bit, then signed our tickets,
got pictures with us!
When we took a picture, he said do a silly face. I'm not exactly what's happening, but I'm pretty sure I was too excited to even make one.. And I'm pretty sure Victoria was just showing how excited she really was!
He hugged us!
I love this picture so much, because it shows how much they truly care about each and every one of their fans, and they really acknowledge that the reason they're famous, and able to do what they love, is because of their fans. And then of course, there's Victoria, about to pass out because she's hugging the worlds best Cellist! It was just was awesome! Then we had to move on. We were about to die from excitement, I think.

Next, we moved up to Paul and Al's line. They are awesome people, and so funny! We showed them our shirt, and they loved them too! So we chatted with them, then they signed our papers and Bag, we got pictures, and we got to hug them!
I think Victoria was going to faint or something, her face is hilarious!
These guys are so awesome! They may not be in a lot of their videos, but they work hard filming and editing them, to make them just perfect. They are awesome people, and the Piano Guys wouldn't be the same without them!

Next, we went to Jon's line. He is so awesome, and I'm so glad we got to meet him! He's an amazing musician, and an awesome person! He got pictures with us!
We chatted for a bit, then he hugged us, signed our tickets and bag, and we said bye.
It was a sad moment when we looked through the doors at them, wishing we could hang out with them all night! Then we realized, Steven didn't sign Victoria's bag! We had to debate going back in there, since it was about 11:40pm. Of course, we decided to go back in, and I'm so glad we did!

We go stand back in Steven's line, and we're the next to last people in line. When we are one person behind him, he looked at us, and nodded with a BIG grin on his face. When we got up there, he greeted us by saying: "My Piano Girls!" Then he asked what he missed. We told him we forgot to get the bag signed, and he smiled and signed it. Then we asked him if we could get a group picture with all of them, and he said he would ask the guys after all of the other people were gone. So we went and sat on some stairs. After Steven talked to the last guy that was behind us, he said: "Ooh, stairs! That would make a great picture!" And ran over and sat above us.
He laughed, and said: "Next, let's do apprehensive."
Now normally I can't keep a straight face to save my life, but when Steven Sharp Nelson suggests it, I was able to pull off the most serious face I've ever made in my life.
"Now make a happy face!"
NO PROBLEM! I was so happy and excited at this point, I think I was about to explode!
Now here is the single best picture that I have taken in my whole life. I still get so excited when I look through these pictures. I'm so glad I got to meet these amazing people, and I wouldn't have ever thought I would have this much fun, but thanks to these amazing people(including Amber), it was the best weekend ever!

We got to hang out with them for about another 15 minutes! We saw one of them had a Silver Sharpie, and we wanted to get our shirts signed, so we asked them, and they were going to get a picture with a couple more people, then they said they would. So when they went into the other room to do that, we followed them. I'm surprised we didn't ever get security called on us or anything! When they were done with the pictures, they signed our shirts, and we talked for a little bit longer, then we actually left.

Almost! We had to walk past the tour bus one more time, and when we did, their manager popped out of their bus and offered us a donut!
He was so funny, and told us: "Quick, before they get back!" It was hilarious!
Apparently, it was an amazing donut..
We thanked him for the donuts, and headed back to the hotel.

It was such an amazing night, and I still can't believe it happened! Everyone that night was amazing, and it was so fun! I'm SO glad I was able to go, and that we stepped outside of our comfort zone, so we could get the chance to meet them like that!
